Sunday

Hailey continues to do well. She is eating great (and is pretty demanding about getting fed the second she wakes!) and sleeping well. She is 2.5 days into the facts recording. We won't know any outcomes until tomorrow morning. So as of right now we are planning to bring her home tomorrow, however if something shows up on the facts recording that will change.

We got everything ready at home for her & bought her some new clothes. She is well into 3 month clothes & almost into 6 month! Wow!

I was able to go to church this morning. Eric was sweet enough to stay home with Emma (trying to keep her as healthy as possible!) and let me go. It was so good for my soul!

I remember reading an article awhile back about why kids sometimes cry or disobey more with their moms or dads. It explained that its because that is where they feel safest. We've had this experience with Emma where she is holding it together with the baby sitter, one of us shows up & she starts bawling. That is the best analogy I can give to explain what church is like for me. All week I hold it together & when I get into God's presence with a community of people who are like family, it is my safe place. This week that safe place was even more needed.

We are blessed with an incredible church. The pastors love & lead us so selflessly. We have so many friends that are like family (and some family that we also count as close friends) who love us incredibly well. We have gotten to grow alongside these people for years. They have been with us in some of our best & worst moments (including the last week). More than that, God has worked in us individually & as a couple through our 4.5 years at Redemption. We are absolutely not the same people we were. This is one of the main things God has provided to ready us for the hard seasons of life and we are beyond grateful.

Our next update should be about whether or not we are going home! Last night my mom told Emma that we were on our way home & Emma asked excitedly "baby sister with them?" We are all excited! Please be praying that we can bring our sweet baby Hailey home tomorrow, for continued peace as we wait, and that we would not be anxious as she's taken off the monitors (and not wondering what her oxygenation levels are all the time!) Thank you so much!
